Babies and toddlers- Babies and toddlers rely on their parents and other caregivers to teach them the language skills they need to be successful. Talking and reading books together provide little ones with the sounds, rhythms, and patterns that they will use in acquiring verbal language and reading skills. This leads to positive social interaction and academic success. The toddler section of the library offers board books that are easy for small children to handle. The content of these books is based on research that helps advance babies’ and toddlers developing brains. Many of the books are interactive, giving the adult and the child ways to have meaningful conversations.
A librarian would be happy to meet with you one-on-one to show you what resources we have!
